Indie Playtest Fest
I wanted to share an event that is currently going on with you all called the Indie Playtest Fest. I know I love checking out different demos to explore the wild variety you can find in video games, particularly when you look at the indie game market, and so I figure a lot of you may also be interested.
To quote the website:
Creating a game as an independent developer is a challenging journey, especially when it is your first game.
Being small and unknown makes it difficult to find even playtesters for your game, which is why we’ve come together to host this Indie Playtest Fest, aiming to reach passionate indie gamers like you.
At Indie Playtest Fest, you’ll have the opportunity to explore a variety of unique games and provide valuable feedback to help us improve them.
And as a token of our gratitude, each game in this Fest offers a chance to win rewards for your playtesting efforts.
Basically, pick a game (there are 15 taking part), download the demo/playtest client, and check it out. If you’re interested in the raffle, each game is giving away a little money basically just to get people interested and give back a little bit. Each game has different means of checking you played the demo, some want you to drop a screenshot in their relevant Discord servers, or share an achievement for completion, they’re all different which frankly is a little overwhelming, so just check if you want to enter, what the qualifications are.
Personally, I don’t know I will enter the giveaways as much as I like money, but I love exploring demos and such just to get a small taste of a game. It’s awesome to see what’s out there, and discover new games that I might want to pick up. So I have downloaded a few of these myself, and I’m hoping to fit at least one stream in checking a few out with my viewers while the event is on. There have already been a few folks doing the same! I believe it runs through August so could perhaps be fun to explore during Blaugust.

This is an incredibly cool way to outsource QA and gain a fanbase all in one. I like it!
Yeah I thought so too. 😊
