Welcome to Dragons and Whimsy 3.0

Welcome to Dragons and Whimsy 3.0

Greetings friendos! Welcome to Dragons and Whimsy 3.0. Why don’t you take a seat, pour yourself a cup of tea, and help yourself to the custard creams. Sit back, relax, and don’t mind the dragons.

I’m going to keep this relatively short, but I wanted to introduce you to the new space! I originally planned to stick with my free WordPress blog when I returned, but the more time went on, the more I missed the freedom that hosting provides and after a couple of months, I went for it. I did a lot of research before settling on DreamHost, and I spent a couple of weeks getting everything set up and ready to launch, including some long, stressful hours, and here we are!

The Aesthetic

I’m greatly inspired by beautiful storybook art, and while I can’t go all out with that, I was able to put together something with Canva that I feel brings together my love of fantasy, science fiction, and horror in a whimsical style and I’m super happy with it.

Sadly, I lost my .com domain back when I dropped my original hosted blog, it would have cost me probably around £250 to grab that, so I went for a .co.uk this time around.

The Wonk

I’m also still working on a few things so please forgive any wonk, I’m on it! Though feel free to let me know via Twitter or my contact page if you notice anything, there’s every chance I missed something and I appreciate the help. However, the theme’s set up, posting works, my feed should be good, and we’re ready to roll.

Coming Up

Posts may still be a tiny bit thin on the ground while I work on fixing things but there’s only so much fixing and tweaking one can do before you just need to push the button.

So if you please, update your follows and feeds (Bloglovin’ should be coming soon) and I’ll see you in the next post!

Looking so good over here already, any potential wonk aside! 😀 You’ve done an amazing job of tieing all your image work and colour palete together imo.
